At the start of your test, the examiner will ask you two vehicle safety questions. One is a "tell me" question (you explain how you'd do something) and one is a "show me" question (you demonstrate it while driving). Here's the full list.
Answer: Brakes should not feel spongy or slack. Test them as you set off — the car should not pull to one side.
